  • FACEBOOK

I'm on Facebook, people!  No more of this Xanga stuff for me.  Get a Facebook page, everybody's doing it! (Although I just saw, while clicking the post button, that you can connect your Xanga page with your Facebook page.  Maybe later.)

  • Garden Update

As you can see, my garden as grown greatly since I first planted it.CIMG3076

The tomatoes are growing like crazy!

    CIMG3075

Unfortunately, we haven't eaten any tomatoes from them yet.  There are a few green ones starting.

The cucumbers are really taking off...as well as the melons.  Yumm.

  • My garden is planted!!  At long last, it looks like a real garden now.  I have over 10 empty pots and a bunch of potting soil left over but the planter box is finished, for now.  So far so good.  A few of the tomato plants are wilting but they're tough so I'm hoping they can pull through the move.  David says I need more flowers so I may have to pick up a few more plants.

My next project is to finish up the top edge of the box and that back section in the corner.  My plan is to put our boisenberry vines there.  They're already growing and ready to go!

  • My garden is now ready!

Here is my garden, just about finished with the box but ready to be planted.  I am trying out the Square Foot Gardening method (http://www.squarefootgardening.com/) except I don't think I have that many things to plant.  We'll see.

    CIMG3028

I put stepping stones throughout the garden so I can reach all the areas to be planted.  I have over 70 square feet to plant!!  Wow, that's a lot!  As you can see, my tomato plants are very ready to be planted.

My cucumbers are out-growing my pot.  I also have some onions and bought a cantelope plant today.  I have several flowers to plant as well.  It's going to be so fun!

  • We got another dog!

We picked up Nala yesterday from Nevada.  She is quite a bit smaller than Simba (which is nice) weighing in at about 62 pounds. She is a couple months older than Simba and she is house trained and supposedly crate trained.  Simba is quite excited to have a friend to play with.  Nala isn't quite ready to wrestle around with him yet but I think she'll get there.

  • The end of October we finally got our lawn back!!!  After tons of hard work and putting in a new sprinkler system in the back and side yard, it was pretty much ready.  Dad helped out a lot (THANKS DAD!).

Simba was hard at work as well.

CIMG2490 The night before our grass came in.  We stayed up until 11pm raking and smoothing out our back yard so it'd be ready for the sod.

    CIMG2495

It wasn't good enough so the sod guys helped.

    The grass is coming!

    CIMG2510

Wow, what a difference.  I like the green better than the brown.

    CIMG2513

The front yard is almost done.

    CIMG2517

    What a nice looking lawn.

    CIMG2526

    Simba loves it too!

  • Here we are on the way to Oregon to visit our nephew at the end of July.  Simba was a great traveler and had fun at Uncle Keith and Aunt Kate's.

Simba is over 30 pounds already and 4 months old!  He's pretty cute though, don't you think? :o)

  • I'm an aunt...again!!!

On Thursday morning at about 6:45am, Jackson Miles was born 8 lbs, 8 oz to Keith & Kate Pepsny up in Oregon.  I have a nephew now too!!  I've only seen about 2 pictures of him but of course he's a cutie.  We're trying to plan a trip up there next week but aren't sure what day exactly we're going.  Planning takes a little more when you're taking a puppy with you. :o)  I'm excited to take a trip with the puppy and spend some non-work time with David and of course see the new baby.

  • We got a puppy today!!  We named him Simba and he is a Rhodesian Ridgeback (a breed from Africa, hence the name).  He is 10 weeks old and we picked him up from the airport this morning as he flew in from Texas (these dogs were cheaper there).  He's still a bit skiddish and very, very mellow, he jut lays around.  We'll see how he is tomorrow.  Check out how cute he is:

So I'm not to sure about this new Xanga thing. This background and stuff is pretty cool but I don't like how it doesn't use the whole screen. There's a bunch of wasted space on the right side!
